Local Number Portability
Your friends and family members already know your phone number, so why
change it? Not only will you save money with USA Datanet's Broadband Phone
Services but you also have the ability to keep your current home phone number.
If you find that your current number is eligible for porting over to our services
and you decide to register, please make sure to read the information below as it
is very important to the process.
- Once you register, USA Datanet will email you a Welcome letter with a link
to your Letter of Authorization or LOA. This document is what allows us to
start the process of porting your number to our services.
- Please MAKE SURE that all information you provide (name, address, and
phone number) within the Letter of Authorization is an exact match to
the information on your current local telephone bill.
- The porting process could take up to a minimum of 20 business days.
- Communication with our customers is very important to us so we will be in
contact with you via email through out the entire process and you will be
able to monitor the process by logging into
http://mydatanet.com
and view it under the My Account section.
- USA Datanet will offer you a toll free 800 number free of charge during the
process so you may start using the service and our calling features
immediately. You can give this number out to your family and friends as a
way to reach you until your number is transferred to us. Once your number
has been ported, you have the choice to keep that toll free 800 number for
a small monthly fee and a low per minute rate.
- Please DO NOT contact your current provider to disconnect your service
during this process as it will jeopardize the process and you will lose your
current phone number.
- Please DO NOT make any changes to your current account with that provider.
- Please DO NOT try to port if you have an outstanding balance with your
current provider.
- Please DO NOT try to port your number if you have DSL on that phone line.
If you port that number, you will lose your DSL service.
- Please BE ADVISED that if you have distinctive ring as a feature on the
number you are requesting to port, you will lose that feature as we do not
support distinctive ring at this time.
- Please BE AWARE that porting this number does not automatically carry
over your existing traditional 911 services. Emergency services must be
activated by registering for it a http://mydatanet.com
- Please BE SURE to fax over your most recent local telephone bill along with
this document. The bill must show your name, address, telephone number,
and the name of your local telephone provider.
